All classes are open to all donkey owners whether DBS members or not. Affiliated to the Donkey Breed Society.
DBS rosettes are awarded to DBS members only.

D1 1.00pm BEST CONDITION AND TURNED OUT DONKEY
To be judged 75% condition, 25% turnout. Conformation will not be taken into account

D2 to followDONKEY STALLION/GELDING (4 years old & over)*
DBS rosette to Best Gelding and Best Novice

D3 to follow DONKEY MARE (4 years & over)*
With or without foal at foot. Foals to be judged first and must be at least 6 weeks old on the day of the show and born in 2009
DBS rosette to Best Foal and Best Novice

D4 to follow DONKEY YOUNGSTOCK Yearling, 2 or 3 yr old colts, fillies or geldings *

D5 2.45pm YOUNG HANDLER (handler to be over 3 years and under 16 years old on the day of the show) NO entire male donkeys

D6 3.15pm PET DONKEY (4 years old and over) To be judged on suitability of animal to be a family pet. Be prepared to tell the judge why you think s/he is the perfect pet donkey. NO entire male donkeys

D7 3.30pmVETERAN DONKEY (for donkeys aged 20 years and over) NO entire male donkeys.

D8 3.45pmLONG REINING (to be judged on donkey’s obedience and handler’s skill)

D9 4.00pmOPEN DRIVING (4 years old and over)
Single or multiple hitch driven to a suitable private, exercise or trade vehicle. To be judged on the performance of the donkey: provided that the vehicle and the harness fit correctly and are clean and safe, they will not be considered in the judging.

IN HAND OR LONGREINED OBSTACLE COURSE
Entries on the day only. £1
Course available from 12noon to 3.30pm.
Take your donkey around the course, either in hand, or long reined. You will be timed. At a later opportunity, take you donkey around again, in the same manner, and try to match your original time. Penalties for missing or hitting obstacles. This is not a speed competition. Stopwatches may not be carried!

PARKING will be available near the Donkey rings all day. We hope to have our own entrance in the security fence. Just follow the signs.
The in-hand Champion Donkey at this show automatically qualifies for the relevant Championship at the DBS Annual Supreme Championship Show in August 2010, provided it is owned by a fully paid up member of the DBS. A donkey may win more than one championship at shows but will qualify only once for the DBS Supreme Championship Show. Where the In Hand Champion Donkey has previously qualified, The Reserve Champion Donkey will be deemed the qualifier.
RULES
1.No responsibility is accepted for anything that may happen from any cause whatsoever to competitors, spectators, donkeys, vehicles, property whatsoever. It is a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the organisers against any legal action arising from any cause whatsoever.
2.Donkey Breed Society Showing Rules will apply.
3.While every effort will be made to run the classes to time, competitors are asked to note that times are approximate and the organisers cannot be held responsible if they over run.
4.The organisers have the right to alter classes and/or judges if necessary without due warning.
5.Entering one donkey and exhibiting another is not permitted
6.Stallions and entire colts must be properly dressed in bridle and bit with the leading rein correctly attached to the bit.
7.Junior competitors must be a minimum of 3 years old on or before 9.08.09
8.DBS members must carry their DBS membership cards, for production on request, in order to receive DBS rosettes.
9.The Judge’s decision is final.
